If you love golf, you're always minutes from a golf course when in Charlotte and it's surrounding communities.  Charlotte is home to some of the finest golf in the country and hosts two notable tournaments each year.  In May, Charlotte hosts the World Seniors Invitational at Piper Glen.   The Peninsula community welcomes The Fieldcrest Cannon Classic (LPGA) in the fall.   There are more than 60 golf courses in the area and most of them are a comfortable drive from uptown Charlotte.  A sizable number of these Charlotte area courses are open to the public.
