Meet Byrd Abbott, a Broker Associate with Coldwell Banker, Flouhouse Realtors.   In addition to being a Realtor Associate since 1982, with over $178,000,000 in sales and listings sold, Byrd Abbott is a corporate wife who has made many cities "home"; she understands both sides of buying and selling homes, finding schools, churches, new friends, etc... becoming a part of a new community.  Byrd holds the respected GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), ABR and SRES designations and she is a licensed Broker in North Carolina and South Carolina.  Byrd is listed in the prestigious publication WHO'S WHO in Residential Real Estate in North America, 1995.

For years, Byrd has had an avocation of helping friends with plans for additions and remodeling jobs, and has subcontracted many of the same.  She knows the challenges involved!

Byrd received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Mary Baldwin College and has studied at Seattle Pacific University.  While at Mary Baldwin, she was an Honors List student and was active in many leadership capacities, including serving on the Judiciary Board.  She is a Woodrow Wilson Fellowship nominee.  Prior to her real estate career, she taught English, modeled and worked in the field of financial market research.

Byrd has been active in the volunteer sector and with the arts, serving on numerous Boards of Directors, including those associated with the Southeastern Gallery of Contemporary Art, the Winston-Salem Symphony Guild, the Washington State Crime and Justice Council, and the Junior League of Seattle.  More recently, she has served as a member of the Mary Baldwin College Alumni Board of Trustees and as Vice President of the Board of Trustees for the Matheny School and Hospital Guild.  Byrd has served on the Kinder-Mourn Board of Directors and has been involved with the Mint Museum.  She is a Sustaining Member of the Junior League, is on the Board of Read Aloud Virginia(RAV) and is active in an Interdenominational Bible Study.

Byrd's high level of performance is reflected by her dedication to the profession and her natural gifts for working with people.  She says, "It is essential to listen deeply to what people are saying about their lives, problems, and their aspirations.  Every situation can be brought to a satisfying conclusion, but it takes empathy, flexibility, and persistence."

Byrd enjoys traveling, cooking and finance.  Other joys include skiing, tennis, roller blading and studying and lecturing on antique and collectible oriental and flow-blue porcelain.

Byrd is married with two grown sons and is a proud grandmother.
